I personally love the "hglobe" glass. It's very classy and different. Stands out from the ordinary. It's cool without being snobbish! It look like it has a sense of humor!? After all we are nothing without a sense of humor!

Purchased a 15 pack of mixed red and white wines from Heartwood and Oak. Bottles were delivered quickly. I tried looking up the wines on the internet and could only find them under Heartwood and Oak, Wine Insider, and Barclays. The bottle i have in Front of me is Moon Crest Sauvignon Blanc, no vintage. The back label is a plain label with the government warning and it also says it was vinted and bottled by Jenna, San Martin, CA. I cannot find that vineyard anywhere on the internet. There is also no UPC code anywhere on the bottle, which indicated to me it is not sold in any retail outlets. I haven't tasted the wine yet, so I cannot rate it. I really wonder where all their wines come from and if they are correctly labeled.

To clarify thing: My story of February 27, 2015 deals with WINES FROM WINE INSIDERS ONLY.
Please stop sending rave reviews about Splash Wines; all of a sudden there are so many that they begin to loose credibility. I have already told the management of Splash Wines that I will order some wines anonymously through Groupon, evaluate them and then publish my opinions about them.
I do have a bit of a logistics problem: Since I live in PA and Splash does not ship here I have to order them through a relative or friend from another state.

I have bought numerous curated cases from Splash Wines and can verify that they are an excellent company to work with. I'm not sure why they're even mentioned on this post as Wine Insiders and their sisters companies aren't even in business with Splash Wines? The horrible customer service at Wine Insiders drove me away and luckily I found Splash Wines by chance from a Groupon deal. Can't beat the prices on such great wines! Steal of a deal.

I've read all of these posts....why is this a scam at all? I got Splash wines as a gift and ordered twice more!!! I have been a 'wine taster' for at least 15 years. I find these wines really wonderful for the $$ and did not run into a bad bottle. ....so why is this a ripoff? It's hard to find a decent bottle of wine for 6.50......typically an 'average' decent bottle goes for $8-15 (unless you want higher end). Being delivered was convenient.....wine was fabulous.....with the $10 - cash - I ended up with $15 for less than $75.....shipping included. How can you go wrong.....I don't get the complaints.

I in no way claim to be an expert on wines or brands or wineries. I'm just an average nobody who likes red wines, cabs in particular. I ordered from Splash Wines, using a discount from Living Social. The wines all came in at under $7 a bottle. I really enjoyed them. Nice flavor, in keeping with my tastes, and cheap. One bottle did have a cracked cork, so the wine had turned, but Splash compensated me more than twice what I'd paid for that bottle. So perhaps, if I were to do an in-depth search, I wouldn't find the winery or distributor (I have not done that). Or maybe I would. Who cares? The wine is cheap, I like it, and it shows up at my door. It's all good

I actually enjoyed about 85% of the wine selection from Splash that I purchased from Groupon...so much so that I purchased them a second time. For the price it's a good deal and the quality was very good!

For the Groupon price, I've enjoyed most of the wines. There have been a few that weren't my taste, but then my friends would like them. I don't expect them to be worth the $30 that they claim, but they do seem to be worth the $6 or $7 that I've paid. On the other hand, I would prefer to buy similar priced wines from Trader Joe's or Costco in fewer quantities rather than having to deal with a 12 or 15 pack. FWIW, I'm now receiving emails from Wine Insiders and Heartwood & Oak. The ads are for the same products, but H&O is about $1 cheaper per bottle.

I think you are correct in your Splash assesment. Did a Google search of 5 different wines offered on their Groupon "deal". All 5 came back as unheard of-could not be found. Caveat Emptor! Jon

I fell for the Groupon bait too. When the case arrived, I looked at the wines and did some research. I was surprised to find the San Martin wines because I live only 20 miles away and had never heard of the wineries. There is a winery at the address listed, but the zip code is bogus. I participate in the So. County Wine auction which is less than 10 miles from the address. No one has heard of the wineries with the San Martin, CA label. Make your own conclusion

I would like to tell of a very different experience. About a month ago, I came across Splash Wines. I very seldom drink wine but my parents do. I came across the offer for fifteen bottles, mixed and a variety of origins. I must say, I was a bit skeptical because the price was more than reasonable. Well, I took a chance and placed an order for my mom & dad. They received the wine a week or so ago and were thrilled. They have opened several bottles and love it! My dad enjoys the fact that each bottle is from a different country. They are throughly enjoying the wine. For the price; it made me feel that I got a great deal and my parents are thrilled.

I suspect that you're correct about barclaywines.com and heartwoodandoak.com being decoy operations.
And they aren't the only two. There appear to be at least four others using that same address; here's the list, along with the URLs for their "contact us" or "customer service" pages on which that address is listed:
• Franklin Mint Wine (http://franklinmintwine.com/contact-us.aspx)
• Wine Insiders (http://www.wineinsiders.com/Contact-Us)
• Troon Wine Club (http://www.troonwineclub.com/customer_service.aspx)
• Clubhouse Wines (http://www.clubhousewines.com/contact-us.aspx)
I also receive periodically ''special offer'' ad-emails from at least two of these ''retailers'', and the ads are identical except small differences in price. I am emailing you separately images of some of these ads.
Editor's note: Click here to see two of the ads mentioned in Marc's comment.

> Pretty sure Splash is a sham company of the exact same flavor as the others. I received a box as a Christmas gift from an good-meaning but unsuspecting relative and it shipped from the EXACT same address as Barclay's. So either it's pure chance and they are both drop-shipping from the same wholesale fulfillment center (very unlikely) or they're just the same company trying to target people they've burned before with a different-sounding pricing scheme that results in the same huge outlay for a subpar product.

Something else to note, the mailing address listed in the Wine Insiders email subscription is also 2355 Westwood Blvd. #791, Los Angeles, CA 90064-2109. The same address as the two online ''retailers'' you researched. They're just selling their own wine. There are no third parties like they claim.

I saw the groupon offer for splash wines, so I went to their site. I've been in the import wine business for 40 years and here's my comment: All wines offered from splash are rip-offs. The labels are zip code labels, meaning they're private labels made for whomever. I've never ever heard or seen these wines in the market place and after checking the origins, I can assure you, the customer is not getting their money's worth!

I saw the splash wine groupon today and thought, that MUST be too good to be true. I'm so glad I stumbled upon your blog post! How terrible that these companies prey upon people - pretending to be something they're not. I joined a local wine club in Michigan that I know of & love instead. (L. Mawby). Thank you for the read this morning!

I stand corrected - I saw Meiomi wines on the shelves of my neighborhood wine store. My apologies, Meiomi!
I also learned that USAirways serves the small plastic bottles as well as the larger glass bottles - for a premium.
