If you Google ''wine storage'' you will get a plethora of information about this subject - wine coolers, wine racks, wine cellars and, if you run out of room, wine storage services. There are also long and profound write-ups about the ideal storage temperatures for all your different wines.
Unless your are a serious wine collector you can forget all this. If you drink your wine within a few months of purchase, then it does'nt matter whether keep your bottles horizontal or vertical, and whether they are in a cooler or in a rack at room temperature - it won't make a difference as long as you avoid extreme heat or serious temperature swings.
If you are like me you'd rather drink your wine than collect it. We have a wine cooler, but all it really does is to keep wine at a temperature we like to drink it.
Of course we're also keeping up with the Joneses.
Note: Just in case you did not know: Per Wikipedia ''Keeping up with the Joneses'' is an idiom in many parts of the English-speaking world referring to the comparison to one's neighbor as a benchmark for social class or the accumulation of material goods. The phrase originated in a comic strip of the same name created by Arthur R. "Pop" Momand in 1913. The strip ran until 1938.
