We invited a number of friends and neighbors for an Oktoberfest, something we do every two or three years. There are two noteworthy things about the 2015 Oktoberfest:

First one:
We hit the meteorological bullseye: There was a 12 day string of sunny days with one lonely downpour halfway through - right in the middle of our Oktoberfest. That rain was predicted and so we had to convert Oktoberfest from a Gardenfest to a Garagefest.

Second one:
Oktoberfest is synonymous with beer. Here is what our guests (and we) consumed:
Beer:.................13 bottles
White wine:.........7 bottles
Rosé wine:..........2 bottles
Red wine:............8 bottles
That means that only 4.5 liters of beer were consumed v. 12.75 liters of wine; by volume wine was 74% of total.
With beer at 4% alcohol by volume and wine at an average of 13.5% that puts beer at only 7.25% of alcohol consumed.
Sorry, beer - hello, wine

Note: To prevent readers from calculating potentially incriminating per capita consumptions we will not reveal the number of guests.
